WELCOME TO THE EAST SOMERSET RAILWAY

Saturday 25th October will be our last Steam & Heritage Diesel Day of this year. We will be running 2 train services from both platforms at Cranmore for the first time. We also have Steaming for Fifteen on 'Lady Nan'. Our spooky carriage will be running for Halloween and the day ends with an evening dining experience on our restored Diesel Multiple Unit.

Trains are now running every Wednesday and Saturday & Sunday with tickets available in advance or on the day from our ticket office.

We have lots of events and experiences available, including the chance to drive an engine and dine on our fabulous Mendip Belle train.

Tickets enable you to travel on multiple trains and spend the day at Cranmore.

We have a well stocked shop and the Station Cafe provides a great range of food and snacks 5 days a week.

What's On

The Comedy Candlelig...

Join us for the opening run of our officially licensed comedy dining train based on the 90s hit comedy Keeping Up Appearances by Roy Clarke. Hyacinth and Richard cordially invite you to one of her infamous candlelight suppers, this time on a beautiful steam train, for a convivial journey of the highest standards. With standards to uphold and people like you to impress, look out for Sister Rose and Brother-in-Law Onslow who have other ideas! The comedy begins before you even board the train. Perfect for fans of the hit 90s comedy, you can enjoy a meal with a difference as Hyacinth, Richard, Rose and Onslow serve and entertain during the journey. Packed with references from the popular TV series, this promises to be a journey filled with laughter.

The friendly steam railway

We provide a large, free car park, a short walk from Cranmore Station. This main station building houses The Station Cafe and Toilets at ground level, the Ticket Office and Shop at platform level. For the children there is a Play Area situated next to the café patio, so the adults can enjoy some refreshments while the kids let off steam!

The Station Café is open Wednesday to Sunday 9:30am - 3:30pm and the Ticket Office and Shop are open 9.30am - 3.30pm, seven days a week when we are in season. Visit The Station Café website here .

As well as steam train rides we have many special events for visitors to enjoy throughout our season, plus a variety of dining trains to savour and for the enthusiast, footplate experiences to get up close to the wonder of steam! Our station waiting room replica museum at the end of the platform, hosts an interesting selection of memorabilia and is one not to miss.

East Somerset Models is an independent shop based in a small building on the left side of the car park. They stock a wide range of model railway items, please see their website HERE for opening times and further details.
