Your Sparkling Afternoon Tea experience begins at Cranmore Station at 2:15pm, with departure at 2:30 pm.  Step aboard the beautiful, historic Mendip Belle Dining Carriage, settle back and unwind with a quintessential English tradition enjoying two round trips through the beautiful Somerset countryside, your experience ends at 4:15pm.

Indulge in a beautifully presented sweet and savoury treat, featuring freshly prepared finger sandwiches, delicate mini cakes and traditional scones served with local Somerset butter, clotted cream, and jam.  Your choice of freshly brewed tea or coffee is accompanied by a chilled glass of Prosecco to complete the occasion (non alcoholic option available if requested at time of booking).

This experience also includes unlimited train rides on the East Somerset Railway for the day of your Sparkling Afternoon High Tea, travelling through the Somerset countryside along our 2.5 miles of track from our main station at Cranmore to Mendip Vale Station where you can watch the locomotive turn.  Explore our history through the David Shepherd Discovery Centre, the museum and ticket office then take a walk to our engine shed (not open on a Thursday) where you can see the work being carried out by our volunteers and check out the locomotives not in steam.  Throughout your visit, our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to help you with any queries.

The Sparkling Afternoon Tea includes the following per person:

4 finger sandwiches with a selection of fillings
1 scone (with jam and clotted cream)
3 dainties (miniature cakes)
1 glass of prosecco(a non-alcoholic drink is available by request at time of booking)

Please note: Gluten-free scones are available upon request but must be specified at the time of booking.
