With Steam Gala 2024 taking place in just over two weeks, the East Somerset Railway is excited to release our timetable for both days!

This years Steam Gala marks 50 years since the East Somerset Railway re-opened to passengers as a heritage railway under the watchful eye of wildlife artist and railway enthusiast David Shepherd.

To celebrate this momentous milestone, Steam Gala 2024 will be the first time the public can visit David Shepherd's model railway - a section of which has been newly installed at Cranmore Station.

The East Somerset Railway will also be welcoming visiting locomotive - GWR Lady of Legend who will take centre stage alongside No. 4116 and No. 46447.

Lady Nan will also be on hand doing Driver for a Tenner - a cracking opportunity to have ago on a steam engine under the watchful guide of the East Somerset Railway's volunteers.

1140 - 2999

The East Somerset Railway would also like to thank CES Mayflower and James Bell who have kindly organised a shuttle bus service from Frome Railway Station and Shepton Mallet Cenotaph. We are incredibly greatful for the opportunity to welcome more people to our Steam Gala 2024 who are not able to rely on private car transport. This service is included with any Steam Gala 2024 ticket and the timetable can be found on the events page on our website.

Its looking like it will be an increibly special weekend and we are looking forward to kicking off the steaming season!
