Photo Gallery for 'Washout of 30075'

Steam Locomotives are `washed out` after a set number of steamings to remove accumulated sediment that can settle in the locomotives boiler and impair performance or in severe cases even damage the boiler. On the 16 April 2005 it was `Yankee Tank` 30075`s turn for a washout carried out by younger ESR volunteers under the strict supervision of ESR Locomotive Superintendent Steve Masters.
